Dr. Ayan Merchant is a Performance Consultant and Sleep Specialist with a strong background in sport psychology and clinical psychology. She holds an MSc in the Psychology of Sport from the University of Stirling, Scotland, and an MA in Clinical Psychology from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She further pursued her PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences from the University of Glasgow, with a research focus on sleep, dietary intake, and food preferences.
Ayan is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society, the British Association of Sports and Exercise Sciences, and the British Sleep Society. She is also a certified practitioner of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
With hands-on experience working with athletes and professionals across diverse environments, Ayan is known for her applied and evidence-based approach. She has led numerous programs in leadership, psychological assessments, behavioural interventions, and performance enhancement. Her research contributions span athlete development, coaching behaviours, and coach-athlete relationships.
A former district-level basketball player and a trained Kathak dancer, Ayan brings both academic rigour and athletic insight to her work, promoting holistic well-being and peak performance.
